What is this?
This site is an archive of the LiveJournal community slacken_ties. This archive is a passion project that was started in October of 2025 in an effort to make it easier for anyone to access the LiveJournal community and all it entailed.

What was slacken_ties?
Slacken_ties was a LiveJournal community based around sharing slashfic and other fanworks created about Franz Ferdinand. It was active from June 16th, 2004 until January 9th, 2008 when the owner, user Pygmalism, and the other moderators decided to close it.

Why did slacken_ties close?
The moderators no longer wanted to run the community and were unable to find new moderators for it. It's explained more in detail here.

Who runs this archive?
My name is Joe and I've been a Franzy since 2020 (kind of late to the game, but I was only in middle school!). You can find me on several platforms though I am mostly active on my tumblr.

How often does the archive update?
It updates irregularly. I cannot promise any sort of pattern as to when I work on this, it's purely based on when I have the time and the effort to spare.

Can I volunteer my time to help with the archive?
You sure can! If you want to volunteer some time to the archive, dm me somewhere (preferably tumblr) and we'll figure something out.

Can I help in any other way?
You can dm me somewhere or send me a tumblr or strawpage ask letting me know that you appreciate what I'm doing! After all, I'm doing this for the Franzdom and any encouragement goes a long way. If you still want to help beyond that, you could always donate to my kofi.
